Castra System

Castra is a planetary system in the [United Empire of Earth (UEE)](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/VyvyKxy4v6-united-empire-of-earth). Discovered in SEY 2544, it was originally designated as a military staging area due to its [jump point](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/0rqzJPaMpY-jump-point) connection with the [Oya system](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/0KxGow1ly4-oya-system) in the former [Perry Line](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/V8gJQMY9mO-perry-line). At the end of the [Messer Era](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/V8gJ6ZwGqo-messer-era) (2546 - 2792), the system was opened up to non-military settlement and has since become a center of trade and tourism. The second planet from its sun, [Cascom (Castra II)](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/0dXKkL9a9o-cascom-castra-ii), is expected to apply for representation in the [UEE Senate](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/VaZn8OqaNZ-senate) in the near future.
