Locke (Idris IV)

Locke (Idris IV) is the sole inhabited planet in the [Idris system](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/bZkrMGnLdM-idris-system), [United Empire of Earth (UEE)](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/VyvyKxy4v6-united-empire-of-earth). [Terraformed](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/V3qgj8vjnj-terraforming) and colonized by [Humans](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/0Nwpnr6wa2-humans) in the early 26th century, it was captured by the [Tevarin](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/V8gJv3nB3X-tevarin) in 2542 during the [First Tevarin War](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/bZwQm3meJM-first-tevarin-war) (2541 - 2546), and used as a main strike hub for the Tevarin fleet while it was under their control. It became the site of the [Battle of Idris IV](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/ReJajXKelk-battle-of-idris-iv) in 2544, a key engagement that turned the tide of the war in favor of the [United Planets of Earth (UPE)](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/0QxBjKP2PN-united-planets-of-earth) and launched [Ivar Messer's](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/RXlXYPWk8q-ivar-messer-i) political career. Much of the landscape that was destroyed via orbital bombardment has since been rebuilt, though some craters remain. A thriving tourism industry is based in the city of [Tanys](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/01Lo67xgw1-tanys), located in the Corsti Mountains. Additionally, the planet is famous for the quality of its brandy and cognac.
