Genesis II

Genesis II is a terrestrial planet in the developing [Genesis system](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/Rw1moXkwBB-genesis-system). Situated in the temperate green band around its star, it has oceans of liquid water interspersed with thickly forested continents. It was declared a protected planet under the [Fair Chance Act (FCA)](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/RXlXmnaYGP-fair-chance-act) the same year it was discovered in 2812 due to the presence of multiple sentient species on its surface and in its seas. In 2942, cephalopod-like, ocean-dwelling creatures were observed exploring one of the landmasses. This sparked a violent confrontation with the dominant land-based species. As the conflict continues, scientists and academics have begun to question the morality of noninterference in the war as required by the FCA.
