Kyuk'ya II

Kyuk'ya II is the second planet from the suns of the [Kyuk'ya system](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/RWo69Xx3dP-kyukya-system), [Xi'an Empire](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/0n96JkwNo9-xian-empire). Due to its acutely tilted axis, it experiences extreme variation in its seasons. For nearly a quarter of each year, the suns shine directly over one of the poles, plunging the rest of the planet into a lengthy and dark winter. When the suns reappear in the sky during the spring, they generate powerful heat and storms that cause catastrophic floods and lay waste to the landscape.
