Vanduul Clans are groups of [Vanduul](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/VpGPp92gdO-vanduul) who have banded together to form a single mutually-beneficial unit. Although observers have not yet fully defined the leadership structure, it is believed that Clans operate as a martial meritocracy that shares some similarities with a military unit. The primary goal for most Clans encountered in [Human-settled space](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/VyvyKxy4v6-united-empire-of-earth) seems to be the collection of resources through raids on settlements and other Clans. Uncommonly powerful clans may possess a capital-class vessel such as the UEE designated "[Kingship](https://robertsspaceindustries.com/galactapedia/article/V3qWn9Dlvm-vanduul-kingship)."
